„Опенхаймер“ е големият победител на филмовите награди БАФТА 2024 г., които бяха връчени снощи в Royal Festival Hall в Лондон, Англия, предаде CNN.
Режисираният от Кристофър Нолан фаворит на сезона водеше с 13 номинации и спечели седем награди, включително за режисьор, най-добър актьор и желаната награда за най-добър филм. Филмът е адаптация по книгата на Кай Бърд и Мартин Шервин „Опенхаймер. Американският Прометей“ (изд. „Сиела“, преводач Деян Кючуков).
При връчването на първата награда БАФТА, Кристофър Нолан изрази благодарността си към студио Universal „за това, че ни позволиха да се заемем с нещо тъмно, в което видяхме потенциала“.
„Клети създания“ беше другият голям победител на церемонията с пет статуетки, включително наградата на Ема Стоун за главна женска роля.
Смразяващата драма за Холокоста „The Zone of Interest” на режисьора Джонатан Глейзър (базиран на The Zone of Interest от Мартин Еймис) взе престижната награда за най-добър британски филм, както и за най-добър филм, който не е на английски език.
Междувременно филмите „Барби“, „Солтбърн“, „Маестро“ и режисираният от Мартин Скорсезе епос по едноименния роман „Убийците на цветната луна“ останаха без отличия.
На церемонията се появиха и някои легенди на киното, включително Том Круз (чрез видео връзка) и Майкъл Джей Фокс, който представи категорията за най-добър филм. Принц Уилям също присъства на церемонията.
След наградите БАФТА, наградите на Гилдията на актьорите (които ще бъдат излъчени по Netflix на 24 февруари) са единственото друго голямо събитие за награждаване преди Оскарите на 10 март.
